Scholourship is a scholarly ecosystem

Our Story

What We Do

Our Services

Scholourship was created in direct resistance to the exclusive and imperialist scholarly communities that currently exist. Many of these communities are locked away in ivory towers and away from the people, cultures, traditions, and environments they declare expertise in.

In the words of Erykah Badu:

We as Black people have to tell our own stories. We have to document our history. When we allow someone else to document our history the history becomes twisted and we get written out...

Scholourship offers a platform for Black and Indigenous communities to produce scholarship about their respective communities. It is a space to be seen and to see, to be heard and to hear, and simply to be.

We are an online scholarly ecosystem. Our definition of scholarship is broad and includes essays, photographs, audio recordings, videos, and more. As such, we welcome scholarship from these and other unnamed categories. Surprise us!
